R B Patel born in 1963 in Mehsana District of Gujarat. After passing B.E. First Class with Distinction in 1987, he joined UGVCL (erstwhile GEB). Later he passed examination of Energy Auditor First class with Distinction in 2009 through BEE. He has very vast experience of Transmission and Distribution and also monitoring of the different electricity schemes. He worked as a team member for development of technical specifications in many items related to the DISCOM business, like Transformers, Energy Meters, RMUs, 11KV Capacitor Banks with communication, Cables, Solar System with its communication software. He has developed various equipment independently, like Special Designed Transformer (SDT), Planned Load Management Transformer (PLMT), HT Metering Cubicle, HTABS. He has played main role in patent of SDT under the name of MGVCL on behalf of GUVNL and also designed and developed PLMT. The patent for PLMT is awaited. He is nominated by GUVNL as a member in IS Committee of the Distribution Transformer, Bureau of the Indian Standards, Delhi. He has awarded by IUCAN National Award in 2014 for Invention of Special Design Transformer for single phase power supply to Agriculture Farm. He has also awarded by GUVNL for forming a policy to reduce the Distribution Transformer Failure Rate, to reduce Transformer repairing costing in year 2008, He also awarded by GETCO for earliest commissioning of the 220 KV Mathasur s/s near Idar, Dist. S.K. in Year-2006. Presently he is serving as a Superintending Engineer (R & D) in Gujarat Power Research and Development (GPRD) Cell (GUVNL), Gandhinagar and In Charge Chief Engineer (Tech), GUVNL, at Baroda.

Jatin Upadhyay born in 1973 in Rajkot District. After passing B.E. First Class with Distinction in 1997, he joined PGVCL (erstwhile GEB). Later he obtained two more degrees as MBA (Finance) in 2009 and “Advance Certificate in Power Distribution Management” in 2014 both through IGNOU, New Delhi. He performed best during his PGVCL tenure as a Deputy Engineer where admirably worked on HT Consumer New Connections, their upgradation, HT Checking, Maintenance of record and work thereof, Installation Checking of various Consumers, Monitoring of Power reliability, T&D losses, Entrust GERC SoPs, Accident Prevention, Contractor Inventory, Overseeing various Power quality and Reliability issues related to Power Distribution System, Meter Testing Laboratory. Subsequently he has been selected after stringent selection process by GUVNL for the Central R&D Cell viz. Gujarat Power Research & Development Cell (GPRD), GUVNL, Gandhinagar in 2017, where he achieved best in many research projects such that Communication Technologies for Energy Metering, Various Types of Cables and conductor for Power Distribution Utilities as per its specific Applications and network conditions, Prepared New Concept of IoT based Watch Dog Transformer for Tamper Proof Distribution Transformer Metering & Controlling and a key researcher in the filing the Patent of the same. He has also done R & D in many other projects like new testing set up and methodologies for accuracy confirmation of HT Consumers Metering installations and its relevant specifications, Research and Preparation of technical specifications on IoT Based Technologies for Operations and Automatic Meter reading of Energy meters. In addition he also researched Various Power quality related issues like Harmonics, Voltage fluctuations issues, Voltage swag-swell Effects & thereby find out effect on Distribution Transformer and Various power distribution components like de-rating, losses. He is a good trainer also and functioning as a regular trainer in GETRI. He Delivered many training programs specifically for DISCOM engineers on “ Smart Grid-Energy Efficiency and Consumer satisfaction”, for participants at IIT GN-UKIERI workshop on “ SKY Scheme and SEDM software for Solar PV Based Distribution Generation in DISCOM” & for Control Room Engineers on “ SKY Scheme”.

R D Patel born in 1977 in Ahmedabad District of Gujarat. After passing B.E. First Class with Distinction in 1998, he joined MGVCL (erstwhile GEB). Later he obtained two more degrees as “Advance Certificate in Power Distribution Management” through IGNOU & “Executive Certificate Program in Power Management” through PDPU, Gandhinagar. He performed admirably his projects expertise as a Project Implementer in GeoUrja (Enterprise GIS System), as a Nodal Officer in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), as a Project Coordinator in SCADA (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition System) and as a Quality Manager in NABL Meter Testing Lab. He has submitted a Technical Paper on “Smart Service Connection Unit –SSCU” at IEEMA, New Delhi which was written on Smart Service Connection Unit –SSCU. He also submitted three project reports on “ Power Distribution System and Demand side Management A study of MGVCL”, “Short term load forecasting, a study of ALDC : MGVCL” & “Tribal village diva Batti Yojna – Gramin Vijlikaran”. He delivered many Lectures on the subject of GIS, SCADA, Energy Conservation, Energy Accounting & loss reduction activity and Erection of HT LT lines at GETRI & GAKC Vadodara, Engineering collages and Polytechnic Collages. He also played Mentor Role in seminar activity for Engineers and Line staff, actively participated in many workshops on SCADA/DSM, Automation in Power Distribution, Smart Grid and GeoUrja. Presently he is serving in Gujarat Power Research and Development (GPRD) Cell (GUVNL), Gandhinagar

Sachinkumar Rathod born in 1991 in Anand District. After completed B.E. first class with distinction in 2012 in Gujarat Technological University, he joined Welspun Corp Limited (WCL) , Anjar, Gujarat, India in 2012, where his work was related with the operations of Variable Voltage Frequency (VVF) drives for induction motors, IGCT control Medium voltage drives, maintenance of Rolling Mill instruments, PLC, Remote I/O. Analysis of breakdown and material diversion through data logger (IBA)and looked after LEVEL-1 Automation, Field Instruments, Electrical Drives, HT panel, Transformer, motors later he joined UGVCL in 2013 where he served on Site Survey and preparations of technical proposals for New Connections of various categories like-residential, Commercial, Agriculture, Overseeing maintenance activity of power distribution lines, Transformers, Poles and Power quality and Reliability issues related to Power distribution system and Consumers. Subsequently he joined Gujarat Power Research & Development Cell, GUVNL in 2017 where his work is related with various R&D activities to improve in the field of safety, renewable Energy, Power Distribution automation, Power quality, reliability, AT&C loss, consumer satisfaction.

Hardik Sakariya, born in 1991 in Tapi District. After passing B.E. with distinction in 2012 with 21st rank in Gujarat Technological University in Electrical Engineering, he joined Electrical Research & Development Association [ERDA], Vadodara, Gujarat in 2012, where his work was related with Product Testing & Inspection, Condition monitoring, Fault Diagnostics, Calibration & Quality Management, Energy Audit, Quality Assurance of Testing lab as per ISO: 17025, Energy audit covering scope of HVAC. Later he joined PGVCL (erstwhile GEB) in 2015 where his work was related with Testing of various kind of Meters, CT PT unit, Daily wrapped meter inspection, GETCO Panel Meter and HT connection checking and Management of overall operation of all lab staff and maintaining lab standard, subsequently he joined Gujarat Power Research & Development Cell, GUVNL where he is keen-sighted the research works of Various Power quality and research related issues like harmonics, Voltage fluctuations issues, Voltage swag-swell Effects. He has played leading role in research project of “LoRA based Cost Effective Automatic Meter Reading on AG consumers” and Renewable Energy projects, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Improvement of safety by earthing systems.

D R Shah born in 1967 at Ahmedabad District of Gujarat. After passing B.E. (Electrical) with First Class-Distinction in 1988, He joined UGVCL (erstwhile GEB) in 1990. Later he passed MBA (Finance) through Sikkim Manipal University in 2006 and also completed (Advanced Certificate in Power Distribution Management (ACPDM) through IGNOU in 2007. He has wide experience of Transmission and Distribution power system and also monitoring of the different electricity schemes. He has performed best at “Area Load Dispatch Centre” (ALDC), Gandhinagar as a Junior Engineer and as a Deputy Engineer also. He has very vast experience of testing of material like Transformer, Solar panel, conductor etc. He is a good trainer also and functioning as a regular trainer in GETRI and GEKC Training Centers. Presently he is serving as a Deputy Engineer (R & D) in Gujarat Power Research and Development (GPRD) Cell (GUVNL), Gandhinagar since March, 2017 and engaged with many research program related with Research & Development of Energy Sector.
